Recently (okay, it’s probably been over a month now) I was invited to become a sweat pink ambassador with Fit Approach. I had been seeing the #sweatpink hashtag on twitter, as well as pictures of pink shoe laces around social media circles, but that was all I really knew at first. However, sweat pink is so much more than that. It’s about a community of women with a love for fitness and lifting each other up. It’s about support, encouragement, and sweat. I’m so proud to be a sweat pink ambassador and I’m so excited to spread the sweat pink love.
Sweating pink can have many meanings depending on the person. Sweating pink for me, means embracing my athletic side while honoring my girly girl tendencies. Even in high school I used to have conversations with my mom discussing how funny it was that I was so athletic but so girly. There seems to be an emphasis in society, and definitely while growing up, that guys are the athletic ones.
Through my sweat pink ambassadorship, I hope to display to you that it’s awesome to be an athletic girl. It’s awesome that I can go out and run 5 miles and then come home and put on my favorite sundress. It’s awesome that I can play volleyball with the guys, and often better (modest, much?), and have them look at the girl with surprise. It’s awesome that I can balance all things sweaty with all things girly.
You may take a different approach in what sweating pink means to you, but I’m ready to sweat pink and (hopefully) encourage you to as well! You can view my ambassador profile, like Fit Approach on Facebook and follow along with Fit Approach and the #sweatpink hashtag on Twitter.
