Fireworks were cancelled across our county due to last weekend’s storms. The emergency personnel were needed to work on restoring power to those without, instead of being on hand to work the fireworks. Good reason, no?
We spent the day together and went on a walk, but mostly stayed cool in the comforts of our air conditioning. Side note to humidity: you are killing me.
Do you love our red, white, and blue attire? Thanks, I do too 🙂
On the 3rd we actually did more traditional 4th of July events. We swam at my cousin’s pool and had hot dogs on the grill. The highlight was definitely the pool because it was Xander’s first time.
He let out one little squeak when we first got in the pool, but he quickly realized how much he enjoyed the cool water. He has always liked bath time!
The pool was so refreshing. John and I really needed that! In case you’re wondering, I’m wearing a sports bra as my bikini top. I haven’t bought a new suit to fit the nursing chest and I may not — the sports bra worked great!
Xander didn’t mind wearing his pool outfit or the sunglasses — he’s been so good with those sunglasses! He’s never grabbed at them or anything. We truly think he realizes that he sees better with them on when he’s outside. Xander also had a fun time playing with Uncle T. John and T. would stand a couple feet apart and slowly float Xander back and forth. It was really cute! He also had some cuddle time with Aunt B. on the deck!
Hope everyone had a great day celebrating America’s birthday!
