When I last updated you about Xander, we were headed to the doctor for his two month check. He is doing awesome and is weighing in at 11 pounds 1 ounce (~47-48th percentile), has a head circumference of 39.5 centimeters (50th percentile), and is a little shortie at 22 inches (25th percentile). That’s okay though — we aren’t expecting him to be very tall!
This week Xander has really gotten fun. We would get smiles here and there before but his personality is really coming to life now. I took a really cute video yesterday that I will have to show you — smiles and coos for mommy!
Xander looks at everything now and we know when he’s watching us walk away from his crib when we put him down at night. He also is having more independent time in the swing and pack and play than before because he enjoys looking at the little turtles that hang above. This still might only be 10 minutes… but it’s so helpful!
This week we also tried him in his Bumbo seat for the first time! A friend of mine from high school has a baby who is just one day older than Xander. She posted a picture on Facebook of him in his Bumbo, so I thought I would try it too! For some reason I was thinking he was still too young — but he did great! Obviously, I’m sitting there the entire time because he could still pitch forward with his sometimes wobbly neck but his neck control is so crazy good now!
Ohh another thing that is totally noticeable now are Xander’s eyelashes! Check out the picture below! What a cutie! He is so fun and just a joy to be around!
He is sleeping better too! He still wakes about 3 times a night, but he’s more efficient during the feedings and is going back to sleep quickly instead of needing rocked for an hour. Slowly but surely I know he’ll start giving us a really long stretch! A stretch of four hours here and there is still certainly much better than it used to be!
This weekend is a long weekend for us since Daddy has Monday off for Memorial Day… and we are hopefully getting together with one of my newer mommy friends! Stay tuned for double the cuteness in some photos!
Thanks to everyone who gets so excited by watching Xander grow — it makes doing these updates even more fun! When he hits 12 weeks I’ll be switching to monthly updates. I’m working on my second Body After Baby post, so look for that soon too!
Have an awesome Thursday!!
