My Pregnancy Journey: Week 19

As of today, November 8, 2011, I’m officially 20 weeks pregnant! Holy moly I’m half way through my pregnancy! John and I are off to receive our anatomy scan this afternoon (and find out if critter is a boy or girl!) Before I get ahead of myself though, it’s time to tell you all about week 19!

How Big Is Baby: Baby is about the size of a large heirloom tomato. Baby weighs about 8.5 ounces and measures 6 inches from crown to rump. Critter’s arms and legs are also the right proportions to each other and the rest of the body now (yay!)

How I’m Feeling: I’m feeling great mentally and physically! I am feeling pregnant more and more each day and loving it!

How I’m Changing: I’ve noticed that bending over is starting to feel different than before. I also have been noticing that baby must being doing something in my belly after my workouts — maybe this is what people refer to as flutters?

Number of Workouts: 1 walk, 1 elliptical routine, 1 walk/run, and leg lifts! This was a great week!

What I’ve Been Eating: I’ve eaten a lot of salad this week. We also made a lasagna this week, so that accounted for most of our dinners. John also made me a killer hot chocolate the other night that I hope he replicates often!

Weight I’ve Gained: This week I gained 1.8 pounds. This means that I have gained back 7.5 of the 9 pounds I lost during the first trimester. Go me!

Buying for Baby: We ordered baby’s crib this weekend! We ordered it from an Amish furniture and are so pleased. Can’t wait until we receive it!

John Thoughts: Well, typically I have a lot to say (and think about) each week. But it’s 9pm the night before our anatomy scan and all I can think about right now is seeing our baby in great detail. We will not only get to find out the sex, but I’m excited to see our baby’s brain, heart, bones, etc.! I’m sure I’ll have plenty to talk about next week…

Things We Are Looking Forward To:

  • Finding out the sex of critter. (Just a few more hours to go!)
  • Learning if we get this latest townhouse we applied for!
  • Registering for baby. (This is happening today after our anatomy scan!)
